Hoy, tenemos la oportunidad histórica de crear valor más allá de la extracción, enfocándonos en el uso directo del litio en infraestructuras energéticas de impacto global. Chile ya destaca por su estabilidad política y económica, pero con el Proyecto Apollo, buscamos ir más allá. Este proyecto implica el desarrollo de una red de estaciones de carga para vehículos eléctricos en Estados Unidos, Canadá y Europa Central, aprovechando baterías de litio alimentadas por energía solar. Al colaborar con los principales actores en estos mercados, estamos cerrando el ciclo de la cadena de valor, desde la minería hasta la energía limpia. Un elemento clave de nuestra visión es que el verdadero impacto de Chile no radica solo en la exportación de carbonato de litio, sino en su capacidad de transformar el recurso en infraestructura y tecnología que impulsa la transición energética global. Como destaco en mi libro Mining Energy: "El litio es mucho más que un mineral; es la base de una nueva economía global, donde la producción energética y la sostenibilidad se encuentran en el centro de la innovación tecnológica." Chile, the epicenter of lithium:
Driving the global value chain As CEO of Lithium Sciences, I firmly believe that Chile should not limit itself to being a lithium producer, but should lead the global transformation towards electromobility. Today, we have the historic opportunity to create value beyond extraction, focusing on the direct use of lithium in energy infrastructures with a global impact. Chile already stands out for its political and economic stability, but with Project Apollo, we seek to go further. This project involves the development of a network of charging stations for electric vehicles in the United States, Canada and Central Europe, taking advantage of solar-powered lithium batteries. By collaborating with the main players in these markets, we are closing the loop of the value chain, from mining to clean energy. A key element of our vision is that Chile's true impact lies not only in the export of lithium carbonate, but in its ability to transform the resource into infrastructure and technology that drives the global energy transition. As I highlight in my book Mining Energy: "Lithium is much more than a mineral; it is the basis of a new global economy, where energy production and sustainability are at the heart of technological innovation."
